There are no rules for this, and it can depend on your style preference! If you clip it near the top of your head, the SHORT will hit above your shoulders, the MEDIUM will hit at your chest, and the LONG will hit at your rib cage. If you clip it lower on your head, then the extension will appear longer. You can grab a measuring tape at home to get an idea of sizing (Short = 10 inch, Medium = 15inch, Long = 20 inch)
How do Mermaid Extensions attach to your hair?
Our clip-on Mermaid Extensions are non-permanent and re-usable since they attach to your hair with a strong hair clip. All you have to do is press on the left and right side of the clip to open it, then place the side with the "teeth" against your scalp, and then press down on the clip to close it.
You should be able to tug on the extension without it sliding down. If you can't, try clipping it in again, making sure you've dug the "teeth" into enough hair near your scalp.

Do Mermaid Extensions work on thin, thick, curly, or straight hair?
They work amazing on all hair types! We have a few styling tips depending on your hair type:
-For curly hair, you may want to clip the extension closer to the front of your face and underneath less hair so that the curls don't hide it.
-For thin, straight hair you may need to clip it underneath more hair if you want to hide the clip. Also, it may help to grab the section of hair you want to clip it onto and pull that section away from your scalp while digging the clip in to help the clip grab onto the hair.
